Wood arrow spine

#1 Post by tmattson »

Based on below, what spine wood arrow to start with?

Thunderchild 56 inch bow, 50 lbs. at 28 inch draw.
My draw length about 28.5
Shoot split finger with glove
Full length arrow (Douglas Fir) - about 31 inches from nock grove to back of point (125 grain point)
Fast flight string
Side plate (came with bow)

I am the wrong person to be telling anything about arrow spine but, I have found that I have had to just shoot and see with each bow. you might shoot a higher spine or a lower spine. I noticed that a lot of my arrows shot better as soon as I stepped uo my grains up front. even fletching can affect to some degree. even our form affects this. good luck

May be good to shoot Big Jim an email. I don't have any experience with that bow. However, I would estimate 60-65 or 65-70.
