Ok Carpy..... here is the numbers

Toelke - 0.264 (40lb) bamboo 60"
Mddg 1- 0.307 (45lb) walnut 58"
Mddg 2- 0.335 (46 lb) walnut 60"
Mddg 3- 0.328 (44lb) red elm 62"
Mddg 4- 0.329 (49 lb) red elm 58"
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

Thanks Shadow. I checked the bow I'm working on before the tape and it was in the .260's near tips. Which means that I began in the .360-.370 range at butt thickness. My taper rate is .003 per inch, did any of your bowyers happen to mention theirs? Not that it matters, just nosey. Just curious if the Toelke uses a greater taper rate which would make it thinner at tips, plus of course its lighter draw weight.

Mike told me about his taper rate once, It went over my head at the time but I remember he said he splits the differnce between the two common taper rates, idk if he said 1.5 or 2.5 .... something like that? sorry memory is foggy..
