Bow Protection During Shipment

#1 Post by Jamesh76 »

I had to ship a custom bow back to a bowyer today. Luckily I had the box I received it in 2 months ago. Looking around, I couldn't find anything to protect it.... No newspaper, no foam peanuts.

I found a pool noodle. Split down on one side and cut to length. Worked absolutely awesome. Just a little tape to snug it up. I was shipping a longbow. But I imagine it would work on recurves also.

Just a tip in case anyone else ever is in the same situation. I have also used pool noodles in the past to ship shafts.

That would work good. Ive always just wrapped em up in heavy layers of bubble wrap and taped it in spots. The noodles sound easier...lol
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

Is that what is referred to as using your noodle? I've been told that's not my strong suit.
