Read through this entire thread. Looks like you’ve done a fine job so far. I’ll be following to the end.

You're a brave man for doing all that reading. It's been an interesting road for sure.

Bow looks like it’s going to have a lot of character. I’ve watched a few of clays videos. I like your stave horse.

There's a race between Dave and I to see who finishes first.
He is doing this self bow and I'm building a flintlock rifle.
I'm pretty sure who will get done first.

Is that build on here? That would be interesting to see.

Teaching the bow to bend. Coaxing the Osage away from the limbs and stalking tiller. Got a lot done today. Took the rasp to lower limb and getting more bend out of it. Made some adjustments to length of bow to perfect the dimensions for three under tiller. Brought the tips in a bit and made an adjustment to handle. At the end of the day I stabilized the knots in the lower limb with super glue. Next post will be a steam bath to fix the handle and untwist the upper limb. After that I will finish floor tiller, add tips, the. Rawhide backing (thinking of staining the rawhide green), then on to tillering tree and a shellac finish. Hoping for a mid November finish line.
