I rough out the thickness first. Used bandsaw on this one.

Filed down to the lines with my Shinto. I clamp in my vise with leather over jaws. Standing at the tip working towards handle give me the best results. Any thicknspots I use the course side and finish up with the fine side.

Next, I will work on the tips a little. Unless you make extra large loops, it's difficult to slide your string over the handle side of the overlay. I file it down flush and make somewhat of a ramp where it blends into the limb. Make sure you don't sand into the back of your bow.

Time for the fades. I mark my handle dimension onto the sides of the bow and extend the center and fade point so I know where to stop. I use a 7" saw blade for my template. You want a smooth transition into the lim at the end of fade. I use a wood chisel and hammer to get the bulk off. Remember if using this method, flat side up so you can control it better when removing wood. I finish up with files and work down thru my glue line just until it is no longer visible. It is likely you my have to remove a little more wood to get your fades moving just a tad when tillering. Up to this point, this has been a real time build step by step. However, the wife wants to go to town. Delays Delays.....

Well backat it. I now level out the belly and take marks out from the rough out with bandsaw. Wood being wood, sometimes defects aren't seen from the outside but once you get into the wood they appear. I found a pinhole and either a crack or mineral deposit. I can't feel with my fingernail so I will assume its not a deal breaker and keep going. Make be ok, or may break. We will see! From here you slowly sand rasp or plane down the limbs to get a good even bend for floor tiller. Without an assistant its hard to get pictures of this. You tube will be your friend for this part.

Once I get it bending some, I make a mark every 6" from tip to handle and compare the thickness with a digital caliper but a ruler would work also. I reduce thick areas and check again until I feel there is a good consist bend on each limb. You will probably want to mark.in pencil. I chose a sharpie so you could see easier.
