Re: Carp’s going huntin!
So did you get the one peeking out from behind the tree? I hope so. Glad you were able to hunt this year.
I never did try a climbing stand. I never thought my legs would be strong enough to work one and stayed with ladders or the ground with guns. Looks like a nice one though.

Jesus replaces the old covenant and speaks to the believer the moral code of God by His Spirit directly to the heart. He is the eternal, everlasting revelation of God to mankind. In Him is both the knowledge of righteousness and the power to live right.

I thought someone would finally notice the arrow sticking in the tree above the deer peeping out behind it. Look again and you will see it, I’ll post a close up to help, then look back. There was actually another larger deer that came down behind the one pictured, and yes I missed, but that’s pretty obvious! I tried a climber years ago didn't care for it..
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

That explains why the ears are up in the photo. I see it now. Don't you hate it when that happens. I did that on a turkey during a deer bow season years ago. Since shooting from an elevated stand, the arrow was too high up for me to dig it out. It was a nice old wide Magnus. Dang. Glad you got out there though. The wife, who has been bed ridden for well over a few years now and I were just remenicing about our weekends spent together on our hunting trips down on the farm.

Sometimes we just got to laugh at ourselves. And I like to share the laugh and let others have a giggle also. Been kidding my hunting buddy about doing it several times so I had it coming!
Attached a picture of his best one, shooting at a doe from his stand.
Going on a little trip in the morning, my buddy and I will be meeting up with some other stickbow hunters, looking forward to some campfire fun and food, and a little public land hunting hopefully.

I like the looks of that climber! I used a ole man for years but my bottom limb would hit my seat cables if I were shooting directly behind me. I sold it after missing a quite large buck! I may look this over and consider getting one! Nice buck earlier this fall. I must have been in the woods when you posted that one. Belated congratulations
Re: Carp’s going huntin!
So I was smart enough to figure some things out on this last journey...
1. Hunting those hills is a young mans game!
I had hunted this area several years ago and was successful there. The Deer population is just as good if not better now. I saw plenty of Deer from a distance, was able to find some wore out trails, but wasn’t able to go back after them! I had not noticed how steep this public hunting WMA was, maybe because I was younger, and much healthier! But though I was confident we were in a prime area, I just wasn’t able to return, if I did I would have had to stay! Maybe the Covid is still affecting my lungs, maybe other illnesses, but I got so out of breath and weak that I didn’t feel a deer was worth it!
More things I learned to come...
