What angle do you sharpen at?
Re: Who would like to win a custom antler handle knife ?
Never been asked that before .
I sharpen by hand with a stone and then a Hard Arkansas stone .
The blade is held somewhere around 8-10 degrees per side but that is as close as I can measure it .
I hope that answers your question .

It does. I typically use a lansky. But would have to hand sharpen for that angle

It wouldn't matter , when you re sharpen , your way of sharpening will be what it is .Jamesh76 wrote:It does. I typically use a lansky. But would have to hand sharpen for that angle
Everyone is different , it's not rocket science and there are several correct ways to do it .
I'm not sure but I think a Lansky the angle setting is inclusive . Meaning a 20 degree setting is 10 per side . So you should be golden .

Looking good!

It's time to buff .
This gets frustrating because you think it's ready to buff , but when it gets shiny , the little scratches show up .
Sand with 400 grit and buff again .
Repeat .
