Bear Hunt

#1 Post by Graps »

Well I'm wanting to do another bear hunt in Quebec .
I've tried to contact the guy that is heading it up , but I haven't heard anything yet .
Last I knew , there was two spots left , I sure hope I can get in .

A bear hunt sounds like a real blast, I'd love to go some day but It would probably be blackbear somewhere in in northern/western CO or eastern NM.

Since you have already been on 1 bear hunt is there anything you would do differently this round or any gear recommendations you would make?

I would definitely take two thermacells instead of just one .
Those blackflies and mosquitoes are torturous .

I use a 29" Doug fur 70-75# spine with a 125gr. Ace two blade .
Over all weight around 510gr.

I will add that black bears are softer than deer , much easier to get a pass threw .

That's about the same setup I use to use with my Widow for deer. Only they were aluminums, and 2 blade 125gr snuffers....virtually the same total weight. It shot 56lb and 52lb limbs.

Them should zip right through yogi.
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
