How can you beat this

#1 Post by Graps »

Was at Tractor Supply and found these.
Skids full of compressed straw bailed.
They are about the same size as my Black Hole and I can get about 7 of them for about the same price as one Black Hole.
If I remember correctly, Shadowhunter mentioned this before.
I was thinking of getting a couple of ratchet straps and make one, then I found these. It's only a couple of bucks more than a regular straw bail and I don't have to buy ratchet straps or have to wrestle with it.
Stops arrows good. I don't know how it will work with broadheads, but I might just have to give that a try.

I like to band them up with wire when they are new. Sooner or later an arrow will the plastic binding. I don't know about the straw ones but the compressed alfalfa bales I used were no good with broad heads. They would hold on to the heads so tight that I would either loose the head off the adaptor or pull a chunk out of the hay.

I figure if one of the band's pops, I can use the straw for bedding for the goat's.

Buy the way, don't shoot broadheads into them until your ready to cut it loose to use the straw.

I looked at some of those back last summer, quite a bit higher priced here. I’ll check again next time I’m there.

You can just get regular straw bails and take two ratchet straps and crank them up.
That's what I was going to do before I found these.
