New Bow Day surprise Bear Polar Recurve!

#1 Post by Ripforce »

My brother came over friday nite for Steak and fresh walleye, as he gets out of his car I see that he have an older looking bow in hand! He hands it to me and says Happy Fathers Day you will use this more than me! He gives me a early 60s Bear Polar recurve, 66in 48lb@28! i did some research and this was made as a target bow and was usually in lower poundages! The riser is made of Bubinga and Zebrawood very figured, the riser is in mint condition it was never tapped for a site like lot of these bows were! I am not recurve shooter but I strung it up put a new rest on it and shot some wood and some carbons out of it, shot both real well,at 66in this bow is as long as my longbows and it shoots very smooth with no stack or pinch! My brother is always horse trading with someone for stuff and this bow was part of a trade he made, the guy basically gave it to him, his loss is my gain! he already gave me a Shakespeare Necedeh and now this, now I have to get payback for sure!

One of the better looking Polars I've seen in a while.

NICE POLAR!!
My 1957 Polar was purchased new in NY by James B. in 1957. I bought it from his son John B., who was born in 1957. I am Joe B., also born in 1957. My son is Jason B., and my grandson is Jacob B.
The original owner was glad that the bow went to someone that will shoot it and appreciate it.
I'm not superstitious but the bow shoots great and I'm not sellin'.
