I'm pathetic.
So I almost talked myself into hinting this afternoon.
As I was sitting here on my recliner, I thought about what if I got a deer?
Then I figured I could get it back to the house with my tractor. But I would have to get down on my knees to field dress it.
Then I thought of having to skin it out and standing there boning out all the meat. And then having to cut the steaks and roast .
Nope, I don't have it in me.
I did get my hunting chair put on my blind last weekend.

Find a friend that could help you!
Re: I'm pathetic.
You could still go and enjoy sitting in the woods. Just pass on the big critters and go for a rabbit or squirrel. Being in the woods is good for the soul.
Re: I'm pathetic.
Just something about getting old and not feeling as well as we once did! But you need a better excuse or story. Just tell folks you had mechanic work to do, they don’t have to know that it was putting a rear end in a recliner!

^^^^^This!^^^^^
Oft times I think we (meaning me) get hung up on the thought that trad hunting = deer (or elk, etc.)
Nothing could be further than the truth.
As Dan said, an afternoon walking the brush piles searching for wascowwy wabbits or bushytails can be more challenging,action-packed, and rewarding than nailing a big buck. And a whole lot easier to field dress and carry home.
As Grant mentioned, you also need to find some young buck to teach the ropes to in exchange for helping with the grunt work. You could also offer to split the meat with a helper in exchange.
Either way, beats sitting in the recliner on a beautiful fall day; that's what evenings are for!
Aim small, miss small!

Nice thought on getting help but I have no one.
Besides, it's hard for me to even ask for help with something like that.
I sure can't small game hunt. That would be harder than getting to my blind.
And Tony, your just not right.

Sounds like I need to buy a NR tag for Michigan? Wish I was closer to ya!
Re: I'm pathetic.
Me too! Dale if I could get over there I'd hunt with you and help you in any way could. I'm not a young buck any more, but dog gone it, I would love to get over your way and go with you.

Might be taking a cross-country trip next year with a friend. If it happens and you're up for it ill add you to the list. Then you'll have two young bucks to help you and to teach some cool stuff to.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.
Re: I'm pathetic.
Now if I could get an offer like that next June to go to Quebec bear hunting, I might consider it.
