Oh, yeah...that's another bugaboo. On PHL you are not allowed to leave a stand in a tree overnight. Yep; you need to pack it in with you in the AM at oh-dark-thirty, set it up, and take it with you when you leave or risk confiscation and/or fine. Another plus for walking in with a stool and sitting behind yonder tree.

Around here, both NY & PA you can leave a portable stand on state lands as long as it is tagged with your name & address or an assigned number from the game commission. The stands are supposed to be removed after season.

Around here you can leave your stand if you want, often someone else will come along and remove it for you, thieves!!

I always use cable locks on them any more. In the past I have used chain & padlocks, but I've had padlocks cut off. Cable locks are harder to be cut, but still no guarantee.
