Arrow roller

#1 Post by Captainkirk »

Picked this dude up from Bass Pro Shops...it was actually cheaper than 3Rivers!
It works, too. Not only for wood, but aluminum. It's probably unnecessary for carbons, as they're usually straight or broken.
What is it? It's an arrow roller for checking straightness...pretty much a requirement for wood arrow shooters as they can bend from shooting, impact or just plain no reason at all.
Probably wouldn't be too hard to make, but it was easier to buy.

Well, I figure it this way...
If I want to build arrows over the winter, I need to have the proper tools to do it with, right?
Normally, I would've run out and bought shafts and fletching, etc and had 'em sitting around. This way, I'm buying a few things a week until I've got everything I need. By then, nice outdoor shooting weather oughta be gone and I can pick up my supplies and start in.
I think I've got pretty much everything I need, unless you guys see some glaring omission....

Your new device is also used to test broadhead alignment on the arrow. Works well with both glue on wood shaft heads but when you use an broadhead adapator for carbons or alum.
Great tool, have had one for years now.

Your right Tom, it will be very valuable in aligning broad heads and field tips for wood arrows. I do not have one, but should get one or make one, I still just spin them on a table top.

Still just spin mine, guess I've done it for so long I don't know anything else. ;)
