**Finally** The never ending build a long.

Sounds great, some move to a cabinet scraper when they get down to that touchy stuff.
Re: **Logger head** The never ending build a long.
Just spend 4 hours on the horse and I am 2/3 done. I went down to third ring so it was slow going for a bit. I made one more very small violation but I have been able to largely keep it intact. Used the big two cherries knife the whole time. Honestly, I feel encouraged if I can make these small rings work I'll have no trouble with better pieces. That being said this is still a nice slab of wood even if the rings are rather small.

Carp what made you move away from self bows?

Hard to find good staves not having local Osage. Less worry of breaking, simpler, don't take set, can use exotic woods for appearance, can leave strung, and mine (not all) are faster than my selfbows were. I enjoy changing things up, that's why I keep making new Forms rather than staying with one that works. The tinkering, figuring, and dreaming up different stuff keeps me occupied. I may change back, I just do what I enjoy most.

Fair enough. If you did a lam bow in a true d shape completely straight unstrung, would you need to bake it still or could you skip the oven? Ah well I really like this whole carving the bow out thing.

The hot box just helps cure the glue, I have heard of folks who did it without a hot box, I think I read that it takes 72?? degrees to cure glue. I still prefer to be safe and go for higher temps, if I didn't have a hot box I would use the back of my old Tahoe, it gets very hot fast on a sunny day.

Good to know. Just been curious. If I ever ventured into lam bows I would try a hill style. As it is I'm pretty fascinated by this all wood bow thing.

Re: **Logger head** The never ending build a long.
Gonna do some more work on Monday and post another update. I work all weekend so I will be lurking till then. The bow is very much alive though. Still gonna look for a local source of Osage. I may finish chasing the ring I have then go to ring below with a scraper to get a non violated ring. If not gonna back with rawhide

We'll be watching for it bro.
