Beautiful Morning
Beautiful Morning
Today was my first day off in a month..... so what do we do on this rare cool morning in Baton Rouge where it threatens to storm at a moments notice. We grab the slick stick (god I love this bow) and head to the back yard. I think I shot a total of six groups of three below are the results. Why only six groups you say??? Well when I am shooting like this, I quit while I’m ahead

On another note I nicked the bow pretty good the other day damage isn’t that bad but was wondering if you all thought I should do something to it or just leave it? Super glue or just hey this is my hunting bow stuff happens.

Fine shooting Dave! Ouch on the bow ding, that’s a good one. I think I would try a little glue or something just to cover if nothing else. It may help a splinter from starting or help keep moisture out.
Re: Beautiful Morning
Cool I took some bear paw Archery glue and did 8 very thin layers till it was smooth. Looks worse in the pic close up than in real life. Just looks like a small dent in person but now at least it’s protected. Then I went double or nothing with grizzly cause it’s beautiful out.

Re: Beautiful Morning
Nice shooting! Ouch poor bow! If that were mine I would warm the bow up a little so it will draw in the glue then apply a few layers of thin superglue until I got it filled in flush.
Re: Beautiful Morning
Much cursing followed that bow ding.... hey don’t judge. Not a preacher anymore . I tell you what though, u know what will cure the want for a new bow? A great day on the Range and seeing how good the stuff you already have works. I’m far luckier than most and all it took was a few shots to remind me.

Re: Beautiful Morning
Super Glue definitely , that would stablize it .

Re: Beautiful Morning
Nice shooting. And yep get some lock tite 420 for that nick.
Goodnight Chesty Wherever You Are.
Re: Beautiful Morning
The Archery glue used to repair the bow is essentially superglue. It worked beautifully and the bow fights on.

Re: Beautiful Morning
Lol.....the large concern over the nick, is because its in a bad spot being on the edge like that and it incorporates the fiberglass. With limbs bending over and over...its very likely to splinter, split, and run. We gotcha that you already glued it, but its in a lil more dangerous spot then you may realize. Just watch it close for a while. Not a one of us wouldn't be upset over a ding like that even if it is small in nature. Ugh!
Very nice shootin! Heck it don't matter which one of them bows you pick up, cause YOU ARE ON FIRE!

The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
