So, who's in training for this fall?

The majority of your bowhunting year is spent practicing and/or training. This is the place to discuss it!

So, who's in training for this fall?

Now that warmer weather is here, are you 'in training' for the upcoming fall season? If so, how? Please detail what you are doing, how often, etc.
Aim small, miss small!

Well I'm shooting more recently because of the bear hunt in a few weeks.
I'm shooting a lot at short distance be cause the shot on a bear will be 12 yards or less. More than likely 8 to 10 yards.
After I get back from bear hunting I'll probably shoot a few arrows about once a week.
After the black fly season, I'll probably do more roaving.
That's my favorite way of just shooting. Slow pace, constantly changing distance and just a relaxing slow time in the woods.

Had been shooting daily until this week which has been a very busy one. Shooting my heavier hunting arrows, shooting from different angles, elevated, from stool, and at Unknown distances.

Got my blind setup at 12 yards so I can practice the short shots from sitting down in the blind.

Now notice the backstop, no aiming point.
Time to find tune the imaginary spot.
Still " aim small, miss small"
There's always a spot, just have to train yourself to see where the arrow will go.

Now at this point, shoot only one arrow at a time.
That way there's no other reference point to distract you.

Well, dang...if you had to "pick a spot" that would be it!
Aim small, miss small!

I had a school teacher years ago that said " If you don't aim, the arrow will always hit its mark."

I also remember a guy years ago that was drawing a small circle on street signs and was shooting a rifle in the center of the circle.
When he got caught they said that they were impressed with the accuracy of his shooting.
To which he replied that he would shoot first, then draw the circle.

Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.
