Re: Trapping and Fur Trade
Wow that was a gorgeous rosette cat! A Tom I'm guessing from the head and size? They dont get much better on the back. How was the belly? Nice looking otter too. Those are one nice fur and the fur I like to wear personally the most. Great yote catches too. Looks like there was a handful of fur caugh...

Re: jumping the string
When a deer is spooked and gets ready to run, they drop to load up there legs for the run. This makes them drop. Kind of like a Track runner, to get power and speed. This^^^^ An alert, nervous, or already suspicious Deer is a challenge with any bow. But I do prefer the more silent thump of my longb...

Re: Does "harvest" offend you?
I learned a long time ago that there are extremes going to either side, and political correctness is no different. There are those who in extreme ways use verbiage that would offend almost anyone because they are against any censorship whatsoever....then to the other side those that cant seem to be ...

Re: Hunt most of the day and
Too close to call grant you're right. Ear to ear is 16" here. It's kinda a ridiculous law you're dealing with really...what are they going to let you throw a tape across them before you shoot? All it does is make hunters second guess shooting and indeed make young buck survival increase. Makes ...

Re: Maybe pushing the traditional envelope
I dont understand why they'd ever think me or my bow unethical....my deer get hit, run, and fall dead... just exactly like theirs do. Most of my kills I've watched them as they went down....a handful didnt even make 20 yards.

Re: Trapping and Fur Trade
I'm really wanting to hit a few ponds for muskrats before they start getting cut up. I like ice, and if we dont hurry up and get cold weather to make it thick enough to get out on to work it, they will start biting each other....Ugh...

Re: Trapping and Fur Trade
That's odd Grant! Nice dogs! One night catches are always a blessing! We have been graced with a March water season here for a number of years now. It makes for great beaver trapping. Speaking of beavers,,,,I took 4 last week doing animal damage control with 2 other areas on the horizon. As you coul...
