Re: Bow tuning
A bow is not all I shoot. I only qualify once a year with a service side arm, so I practice some in case I ever need it. Heck I even practice with Rifles on occasion.

Re: Sad story in the turkey woods yesterday
I would think that I built the fence in the wrong place. Around Here people with private property tell me that spring turkey is a 2 hour season with a shotgun(2 birds). The same folks have never yet connected with a bow. Mild winter and lots of fences that keep the coyotes away and the rabbit popula...

Re: Bow tuning
This makes sense to me. but the Mad Dog is all ready the quietest bow I own with out any work but stringing it. All the rest have wool or beaver balls, and the don't make any noise because I quit shooting them. With my current projects I only shoot 30 or 40 arrows a day, but they are quiet. learning...

I'll put you in my prayers. Ive been down this road with lots of family and friends. The one thing I can say is the fight is only over when you quit fighting. Back into it's corner beat it down.
PS I am pretty ugly even with some hair.

This last Xmass I replaced my Grandsons fiberglass little brave with a pup long bow. he used so shoot the little brave until all his arrows stuck in the target, sometimes that took hours. He has yet to miss the target with the pup and they all stick in so now he empties his quiver once and goes on h...

I received My Mountaineer from mad dog 52@29and 68" i believe might be 53 (no requerdo) it was easier to shoot well with with arrows tuned for the Hatfield 55# at 28 than the Hatfield. after adding a little weight to the front end the arrows, it is now a look and release bow. As far as hand sho...

Re: Indoor shooting
A number of years ago I bought a thrift store find from a friend; A wing archery 40# birds eye maple bow 1 dozen wooden arrows and a very brittle field quiver. So before embarrassing my self at the range I shot the hanging target in my garage. 27feet across the patio an additional 15feet open the sl...
