Good luck with the bow this year! I've shot quite a few deer with my own hickory self bows. Tried to find some Osage, but everything I found was really twisted. I guess that is not uncommon with the Osage. Hickory is really tough and forgiving for the new bow maker.

Yes, I usually rush the shot after I stop them. Prefer to have them stop on their own.

Had a couple of metal tree steps snap off without warning over the years. One time as I recall it was on a very cold morning.

I found the shooting in the dark part interesting. Apparently you still need some sort of arm, bow, arrow reference even if you believe you are shooting totally instinctive.

Twice a week starting in late summer, and then a couple of shots everyday the week before archery deer opens. Probably only once a month during the winter unless I am testing something new out.
