Re: Practice shot numbers
What would happen if the coils were pre marked somehow for different yardage? I don't know if that's possible, I literally know little to nothing about SW other then bits and pieces I get off here. That could work for sure. I shot with a national champion bare bow archer over the winter and he has ...

Re: Shooting the Stickbow/Anthony Camera
Shooting the Stickbow, Anthony Camera , 422pp Well written, covers everything he new or experienced trad archer needs to know and then some. It is, simply put, the best instruction manual I've read to date, written by a professional archery coach for more than 30 years. Having exchanged many emails...

Re: Does B55 ever stop stretching?
What you are experiencing is creep . The string was probably made without back laying before the final lay of the bundles . This is a pet peeve of mine . It seems like most string makers skip this step because it's faster to make a string with straight out laying the bundles . The technique has bee...

Re: Does B55 ever stop stretching?
I would think so. Have you tried applying string wax and rubbing it into the string with a piece of leather (enough to get the wax hot enough to melt via friction?) I read where this is the point where a new string stops stretching. Of course, they were referring to B50, but it should be the same I...

Does B55 ever stop stretching?
Hi everyone, I need to solicit the advice from all you fine folks. I have been shooting a B55 string out of my Robertson recurve and recently tried a Fast Flight Plus string. I like that the FF doesn't stretch, but the bow is very loud without silencers. The B55 is considerably more quiet, also with...

You're right. SW'ing is absolutely not for everyone.Captainkirk wrote:Nothing against SW, but I do believe it takes the time and dedication of practicing at least an hour a day (or more) to become second nature. Maybe it would be a good retirement endeavor!

Re: Practice shot numbers
Every time I have tried to play around with any of these techniques my shooting goes to pots. I'm guessing it takes more commitment than I am willing to give. I have read that your subconscious learns to gap, I don't know if that is the case or not?? I know I shoot some different length arrows with...
