Can you find enough to keep you in fletching?Jamesh76 wrote:for me, its probably goose. cheap, easy to find and pretty much waterproof just as you pick them up
Aim small, miss small!
Re: Poll: your feather preference?
as much as I fish, I do pretty good. Last year I picked up over 60 in 1 day at a small county lake. Plus, I have friends who hunt them and can get the whole wing from time to time. Last time I got a bunch of wings, they were all young snow geese. I got about 7- 10 decent full length feathers per wing. They had over 50 birds. That was several years ago, and I gave the majority of them away.

I buy mostly truflight but do process my own when I get them in the spring. I have no real preference to be honest. As long as there are 3 feathers on the back my arrows fly fine.

Turkey. Hunting buddies give me their wings, look and perform well. I have some goose I haven't tried yet, good to know they work well.
