Made many from dowel rods and cane Joe. Now I’m lazy and wait for a really good clearance sale on carbon, I get many years out of a dozen! I know that word makes some cringe, I like them.

I stay away from dowels for anything above kids' arrow draw weights. They've been known to 'splode on release because some vendors glue scraps together before running them through the planer.

I had a friend shoot a wooden arrow threw a compound.the shaft broke went through the bottom of his thumb an came out underneath his thumb nail.we would try stupid things back then.I shoot carbon,aluminum too now.I do want to thank you two for all the hard work you all due special people in my book.
