A few short adjustments later.

Once I get really close and the shots start looking really good I'll shoot probably 10 groups before I even consider making another adjustment the reason being is you do not want to hastily make an adjustment and accidentally over cut or over shorten your arrow. If the groups are looking really good I'll drop the bare shaft momentarily Fletch a third shaft to length and just shoot for a while.

Weight-wise I'm coming in about 25 grains short of what is estimated which was about 475 however I'm still shooting over 10 grains per pound. I haven't made a batch of arrows for this bow in years so it's really nice to have some arrows for it. The bow itself is 42 LB at 26 in and I ended up with a 30 in arrow.

35 yard group and a pic to show where I shot from. I think I'm happy with the arrows. In the end I wanted to show you that I really don't think wood arrows are that big of a pain in the butt or are that hard to make. Over the course of this build a long I have really put absolute minimal effort into the arrows themselves yet I think they fly better than I can shoot. These arrows were not straightened nor were they even stained. The only thing left I would do is invite my friend who has a Broadhead Target over and do some shooting with a broadhead.

Thanks for watching yall and sorry it took so long.

There is something really really magical about the way a wood arrow flies the sound it makes coming off the shelf and the thud it produces versus a carbon or aluminum arrow when it hits its intended target. I'm not the best at this, I'm not the arrow expert but I just want to show you that a normal guy can build homemade wood arrows that fly well for less than 45 bucks a dozen. Lastly people think that wood arrows break easy and they can depending. But these will last me about a year and there will still be some left for stumping. I built a dozen for my camo bow 8 months ago and I still have all 12 perfectly intact. For the recurve I still have four arrows that I made over 2 years ago so they can last.

What's not to like? They look great and obviously fly well. As you said, it doesn't get much cheaper than that, and if you lose or trash one...meh. No big deal.
Thanks for dragging us along on the build!

This explains why I have trouble with building arrows. :?
