Hey, what was that wood riser type? Zebra wood? Is zebra wood in the rosewood family? Rosewood do not take tru oil worth a darn if so. Cocobolo, and Bacote are both rosewoods, along with anything that says rosewood like Bolivian Rosewood for example. I sure hope zebra isnt rosewood family.

The Zebrawood did fine with it but the Bocote just don't want to dry, it's my first time to use Bocote so didn't know that.

As far as I know, only tru oil has problems with the rosewood family. Id think polyurethane would have been fine.

Ole long arms gave the ShadowCarp a good test today, he draws two inches longer than I do. ShadowCarp didn't mind.

ive heard you can seal oily wood with superglue, I also know waterbased stuff cures on it then you can use oil based version of the same product. I also think wheel paint cures on oily woods.

Most people use the VHT brand of wheel paint but I couldnt find any at the store, I am going to try this kind out http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rust-Oleum-2489 ... Sw9GhYkJPR
