40# Black Hunter Refinish
Stay tuned, as this project will start today when I get home from work. The plan is to sand of the sealer on my 40# longbow and use a walnut stain to alter the gray/black color. Bow and limbs will be sealed with Tru Oil.

This should be good.

looking forward to it. it will be interesting to see how much of the stain that laminated riser will accept.
Re: 40# Black Hunter Refinish
Yeah, that concerns me a little. I may just sand a small spot under the strike plate to test it before sanding the whole bow.
Re: 40# Black Hunter Refinish
Test spot, let's see how it penetrates. 1st coat.

Not sure it's going to soak in.... if I can rub it off after it dries, I'd say it didnt work.
Re: 40# Black Hunter Refinish
It can be a little slow drying completely but usually does a good job. Except on Bocote, for some reason it doesn’t want to dry completely on it.
Re: 40# Black Hunter Refinish
Yeah. This taking forever to dry. I think it will be more like painted on than actually soaked in. Still tacky this morning.
