68" of osage

#1 Post by Jamesh76 »

This piece I have been fighting for 6 months off and on to get handle and tips to line up. And when I.finally get it, it's pretty dry has cracked and I am not sure if I can make a bow from it or not. No reason not to try. 66" 4" handle 4" fades. Taper to 1/2" tips was from midlimb measured from end of fade to tip. 1.5" wide. With the cracks on belly not sure how deep I will have to go so I don't really have a weight goal right now. Bow had a little bit of snake in it.

That will be a nice bow. Love the snakey ones.

the limb thickness will probably be thinner than you would expect compared to other woods.

It's a 67in American Flat. It's got a slightly wanky limb...we'll see how it goes.

if those cracks are running lengthwise, may not be as bad of an issue. you may have to fill with the superglue. but cracks do make a guy very nervous and rightly so.
