Pork chops and sauerkraut

#1 Post by Graps »

I had an idea today and I tried it.
I used Frank's Bavarian style sauerkraut and spread evenly in a casserole dish and then put sliced, quartered Gala apples on that.
Then the pork chops on that with some salt and pepper.
Backed it at 360° for 90 minuets.
 My wife and I just loved it. The wife told me to remember how I did it.
If you like that kind of thing, you should try it.👍👍l👍👍

I have had pork chops cooked in sour kraut, mighty good, don’t think we had any apples involved but sounds great!

I love Sauerkraut! I make my own through fermentation and no heat/canning/cooking. Typically I'd rather eat it uncooked to get all the benefits of that, plus it's nice and firm kinda like the difference between fermented pickles and heat processed pickles. There all good but the fermented are soooo much more flavorful with a crunch out of this world. I like just putting kraut on top of or as a side to my meal. However I will eat it cooked now and again when the mood strikes me...next time, I will give the kraut, apples, and pork a try. Its GOT to make pork chops or even loin chops better!
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
