Sometimes you just can't win.

So I have been fighting with this knife for over a month.
The scales had a bad flaw in a bad spot. I usually just fill these with super glue and it will look ok.

And this is how the super glue trick turned out.

So I milled the ugly out and using red sand and super glue I filled the pockets I milled.

But after it all dried and sanded it down, it just looks like junk. I have started polishing it and the red still looks grainy and I just don't like it.
Guess I'll just scrap the scales and cut them off.
Hopefully I can salvage the blade and guard.

Another thing you can do is carve out 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch on both sides to match then put inlays in the newly created voids.
Make it look like you meant to make it that way in the first place.
Not the best drawing but you get the idea.
