Re: Bear bows and tackle
Think I might like to pick up a K-mag or a K-hunter.
Which one you guys prefer?

Re: Bear bows and tackle
Have any of you had any experience with the Bear Cub? There's one at my local bow shop and it's pretty sweet looking; but I can't seem to find any info on it...it doesn't say Kodiak Cub, just Cub. Also a HC-30 Tamerlane with sights for $350 (Canadian). Good price, but out of my range.
Also found a Sears Ptarmigan by Bear on an online classified...never heard of it, but it looks like my Grizzly

I still have my Bear Cub that I hunted with before I got my K-Mag .
They are a neat bow but mine is only 36#@28 .
In fact I used that bow when I did my archery merrit badge .

Cookies, I've looked at a few on eBay and been tempted to bid. Like you, don't know much about them, but I like what I see.

I'm still trying to figure out: is the Cub a reflexed longbow, or a recurve? it seems very narrow, and the tips don't have that sharp, recurve to them, more a gentle reflex like Tony's latest creation.

They are an R D ambidextrous longbow .

Re: Bear bows and tackle
So, after some debate (and heated argument) with myself, I chose to pick up a Bear Kodiak Hunter rather than the Kodiak Magnum. I got me a very nice 1970 model, as pictured in my other thread in the "Campfire". This makes three Bears in my collection;
*Early '70's Grizzly (no markings)
*1969 Tamerlane
*1970 Kodiak Hunter
I'm very impressed at the durability and timeless looks and function of these vintage Classic bows.
And I'm not saying I won't add to the collection as time goes on, either!
