"Uh, Houston, we've had a problem."

This is the second time that I've encountered this. If you sign in to the Christian forum and begin a post which is interrupted at home by other duties or distractions and then come back to finish it and then hit submit....you will be asked to sign in again and all that was written is lost.

Is there any way to remove that timer so that once signed in you remain signed until until you move out of the sub forum?

Could the sign in also remain active even if you minimize your reply in order to research something elsewhere?

I'm not sure on this, but I'm wondering if the "save draft" is always visible while writing a reply?

Thanks, Craig

This is from my home pc on windows 10.

Craig, most forums I've been on have a time limit for posting and sign in is required again and typed message material is lost. I'm not sure if that could be changed, Elkman would know about that and maybe if you pm him he can tell ya.

How I've dealt with it on other forums, is if I've gotten distracted or have made a lengthy post, before I hit submit I will highlight my entire post and save/copy it. Then if I have to sign in again from the time restraints, I do that then I'll just click in the message box and paste what I had copied, then post it immediately. Worked every time! :ugeek: 8-)

Neat idea Jason, I'll have to try that sometime. I've had the same problem and with my phone, sometimes it disappears while I'm posting.

Craig I understand your frustration. I had the same thing happen to me the other night. I didn’t leave or anything like that. I just took to long, plain and simple.

I will look into this issue.

Thanks for pointing it out or should I say reminding me to look into it.

I might add that I have no time set to limit posting. The issue may have something to do with login.

Craig, et al;
Any post (or pm) can be saved as a draft with the new software.
Underneath your text box you should see 3 boxes; SAVE DRAFT, PREVIEW and SUBMIT.
If you have been interrupted or want to take a break, click on SAVE DRAFT. You can then go about your bid'ness. This can be really helpful if you're a blabbermouth like me and have a lot to say in between breaths... :lol: You will get a text box confirming if you want to save your text...click YES.
To retrieve your draft, go back to the forum you were posting in and start a new topic. Go to your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen and click on the arrow head beside your name. This will open a drop down menu with the following options;
User Control Panel
Profile
Logout

Click on User control panel.
This will open a new page showing your activity. To the left (sidebar) you will see MANAGE DRAFTS. Click on it. the MANAGE DRAFTS window will open and give you the option to LOAD DRAFT or VIEW/EDIT
Click on LOAD DRAFT and Bingo! You are back with your text.
One word of caution; If you are going to highlight, use large letter, colors, links, etc...don't do that and attempt to save it as a draft...it comes out all wonky. You only want to save basic text and do the editing right before you post. But if you are doing a long, long post (as in the CFF) this function can be really helpful. Ask me how I know. In fact, ask me how I discovered this function... :?
