Yep!
There is a large den in one of the branches of that hugh tree just below my stand. When setting the stand I noticed it and leaned around the tree and peeped inside, there he was! I have not done that again, I don’t want to fight a big coon on his terf!
Clarification; the First picture of the Deer walking by was from my Stand. The one just under the ladder was Marks, the Deer came around and teased both of us.

Thanks everyone, i appreciate it. It's been a steep learning curve, hoping the rest of my season just gets better.

Had a feeling yesterday was gonna be a good day. Got a real late start, didn't get into stand until 645. My brother had mentioned that he wanted to hunt yesterday at my uncles, so i texted him about 430 to see if he was heading that way and never got a reply. Figured I'd give him a little while to check his phone and finally got fed up and headed out.
When i got there, i rushed and basically went into a sprint out to my hang-on.

About 10 min after i got settled, i heard movement and slowly turned to see a group of doe moving into the adjacent field. I thought my day was basically over. To my surprise, the group circled back about 30 min later and started moving my direction. I was already alert after seeing them move thru earlier, bow in hand ready to go. After a few tense moments, momma doe came into range and started browsing. I picked my hair, drew and released. She was completely oblivious to my presence and flinched a bit on impact. I watched her run about 50yds. I watched her stop, turn around and stumble, then she collapsed. Quick, clean kill. She went down within 1-2 minutes of the shot, if that. It was surprisingly fast. Turns out i hit just 1 lung, shot was a bit higher and further back than I'd thought, but obviously deadly. Not much for a blood trail, but her chest cavity was completely full when i dressed her out.

After the shot, the rest of the group decided they liked me or something. They literally wouldn't leave the area for what seemed like forever, i guess it was really somewhere around an hour they hung out before finally moving out so i could get down. Would have had a double day easily, had i not dropped my other BH arrow while hurrying to get setup earlier. That'll never happen again! :x

For equipment, i shot my current go-to bow, an RER XR 60" static tip pulling about 48lbs @ my 29.5" draw. Arrows are Victory RIP XV's, 400 spine with 250 gr cutthroats up front, 3x5" feathers, total weight about 475-480 grains.

I'm still jazzed about the whole thing, couldn't have gone more perfectly. And yes, the backstraps were delicious tonight! Looking forward to the rest of the season!
