The new bow strikes again
I set up my stand in a stand of oaks yesterday morning and got rained out around 9:30 as a thunderstorm rolled in. It rained most of the afternoon and evening so I stayed home. Woke up this morning to more thunder so I slept in.
Re: The new bow strikes again
Made it out this afternoon and about 4:30 a nice big doe started crunching on acorns about 30 yards away. She milled around for quite some time crunching away, never getting much closer. A yearling decided to join her and for some reason was attracted to the bottom of my tree.

Well, is there some back straps?

Re: The new bow strikes again
The big doe stayed where she was contently munching away. Another doe came out along the same path as little one at the bottom of my tree. I eased myself into position to make a shot as the deer made its way to an opening. As her vitals cleared the foliage, I focused, hit anchor, and released.
Re: The new bow strikes again
She took off and crashed. The other two deer ran off at the commotion. The shot was good. A touch higher than I was aiming for but a solid double lung shot. I waited a half hour and climbed down to get her. She went down just out of sight so it was a short trailing job.

Way to get it done.
