Re: Carp’s going huntin!

Went out again this evening. Saw three Deer coming at me through the thick stuff. First Momma came by about 15 yards, she kept stopping behind stuff, then I could see a little one following, it stopped about 10 yards from me. So I skipped them and focused on a larger body coming. I could tell it was a little bigger. The Momma doe stayed behind some brush and played peep-eye with me. Then I spotted antlers! I was about to draw when I stopped myself long enough to see how many antlers, glad I did, wouldn’t want to use my only buck tag on him! We only get one doe and one buck tag where I live so I guess I probably pass some that others might not. I just don’t want to finish my season this soon for a small buck. So I’ll probably eat tag soup after season! Lol   I don’t mind doing that.

That makes for a great hunt with out all the work.

Hunting has little to do with game taken, in my book.

They really sneak up on ya. I'm pretty picky on my buck tag also. We get 5 doe tags though so they are my meat source and I'm not real picky on them.

I wouldn’t be picky on Doe if we got 5 tags, but only one here. I can travel to the western part of our state and take more, but not on home turf. I do wait until the little ones are big enough to fend for themselves before shooting Doe. Everyone gets to decide for themselves on that.
