The biggest thing is that you are out nearly every day hitting it hard, James! Congrats!

yes, the trad bows have had a long history of closer shots, at least for modern man. I have spent years of carefully picking stand sites for that close trad shot. Even when I shot compounds, it was striving for a 10-18 yard shot. I have always told people to quit worrying about the long shots and become masters of the close in shots. By refocusing your stands like you have done, you set yourself up for much higher success. This has to be a major learning point for you experience wise, further proof to keep doing it. I call it setting yourself up for the gimmie shot that screams you are mine. From what I was seeing, I assumed that you were this successful all of the time. So well done Sir on figuring out how to be more successful in your hunting spots.

Evening hunt. Light southerly wind at 5 mph, 55 degrees. Seen 1 on the drive. Maybe they will move early.

Didn't hunt this morning got a large pile of osage shavings from selfbows to burn and need to mulch leaves. Should be out this afternoon.

Didn't see anything tonight. Wind was pretty calm. As soon as I got home it was blowing pretty good.

Haven't hunted this stand we call little cedar this year. I have another stand 100 yards South on the point I have hunted a few times. Cedars are pretty thick. This stand is only 8' up and maybe 10 yards from the trail. Not alot of visibility in here distance wise. Hope to hear them coming and get ready. Took my 40# Black Hunter tonight. Likely hunt with it the remainder of season. Misplaced or lost my shooting glove somewhere also....

Back to work today. This will pretty much conclude my season. May get out a few times with my son when we have days available. Going to work on building some bows, shooting squirrel with my 22, a few coyote hunts with the 223, upland birds if I get the chance and some fishing. Hope you all enjoyed this year's hunts. James
