Gonna shed some pounds tonight. It's hot, but the kid wanted to go.

Best of luck this season James, hope it is blessed, safe, and enjoyable. I just finish looking through your entire thread of last season, and I say wow, you sure have my respect. Sure be hard to top that, but I’m confident you will enjoy trying! You make some enjoyable hunting threads!

thanks CD. I am heading out in the am. Likely going to go with a lighter weight bow due to some injuries I have been fighting. Gonna shoot and ensure tune tonight. Had 390 pictures since 8-20-21 from the spot of my last post. Lots of Does, mostly morning. Hopefully I can pack one out tomorrow morning.

Sounds good. I have been able to increase weight a little this season, been trying to keep my shoulder in shape with some home therapy, but often forget. Lighter weight bows kill! I guess my heavy bow would be considered light to many, but dead is dead! Good luck!

Shot some last night with my 40# Black Hunter. Took a bit to get drop settled at 20 yards. 10# drop from my 50# Kmag sure is a difference in flight. Shot 30-40 arrows, push mowed the lawn and then shot some more. Ended with a few walkback sessions 10,15,20 yards. Anyways, out again this morning. Walked thru several spiderweb. I usually hold my bow up infront of me to knock them down. It didn't seem to matter this morning. I was fortunate to fund my headlamp on in the pocket of my safety harness. Still shining light but not much..... used my handheld walking in. Rain was in the forecast early this morning, looks like it missed us. Time to get off the phone and let the forest do its thing as the sky is starting to slightly brighten. The barometer has also went up which is usually good for deer movement. I made sure to include that in my weather pictures for future reference.

always hated the spider webs getting on my glasses, royal pain. Good sharp blades and you should be fine to go. You definitely know the routine and so this makes it tough on the deer LOL. We all eventually have to face new limitations as we get older, it is up to us to work around them and figure out a good solution for us. I always looked at bow hunting as making a better hunter out of me as I was forced to get closer with my shots. Hope that you have a blast this season James.
