It's getting started.

#1 Post by Graps »

Greg Coffey from Javaman Bows just contacted me and he is going to get started on my Helms Deep shorty recurve.
It will be 52" amo, 45# @ 28".
The wood is Birdseye Maple stained light brown.
Water Buffalo Horn tips. And a black leather wrapped handle.

oooooh man! I'm excited for you Graps!

with that heavily deflexed riser and those static tips that shorty should be mighty smooth, even with a looong draw.

I hope to be on his list someday myself, but at this point in time I would sign up for his longer static tip recurve.

What made you decide on on a maple helms deep?

I really like Birdseye Maple and I like short bows.
I have hunted most of my life with a K-mag and I think that Helms Deep will be a deluxe version of that. And in the past few years I have needed to use a low grip like on a longbow and that bow has just that.

Ooooooo!!!! Thats exciting!!! I love the looks of Gregs bows! I really fell for the Helms deep too, since you brought it to my attention. Really nice bows!
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

Greg has agreed to send me some pictures as the build goes along.
So look for them in a week or so.
I'll put them on here.
