I generally look at the various old Bear Kodiak lines....lately I've considered the K Mag.

I also would like to find a Darton superflight Ranger on my hangers one of these days. I had one as a kid and I'd sure like to replace it.
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

Clay I don't know if you noticed in my Elkseeker bow build along post I had an old Browning Safari 1 sitting on the bench when I clamped up my riser.
I had a guy bring it to me, wanting me to match it, but with a little more weight. I'll have to build a form, but I am looking forward to that build. I have shot the bow and it does pretty good. It is old and showing signs that it could break at any time. Making one just won't be the same as having a vintage one.

I would like to find a Grizzly and/or Kodiak. As a kid there was a Kodiak of my fathers always sitting in the closet. I don't recall the model. I always wanted to shoot it but I didn't have the strength. I have no idea where it ended up.

My only feeble excuse is I need to sell some bows before I try more. That sure does look like a good buy though! There so many great vintage shooters out there for less than 200 bucks.

K mags are great bows, I wouldn't mind owning one of those for a spell either. I think the hi speed might be better suited for me though since it doesn't have such a forward grip.

Also what's this mystery bow you keep hunting at Kirk?

Can't tell you yet...still quibbling on the price. Actually it's between two of the same model. One is priced right, the other is priced too high but in excellent condition.

When in doubt go with the fanciest wood! Speaking of fancy wood it looks like your safari has a really nice piece in the riser CD

I also forgot there are some mighty nice drake bows I should probably add to my list.

I guess I would like to try an original Redwing Hunter 52"
It is rumored that Fred Bear copied the design for his K-Mag.
