Do you take one hunting?

I take a fire knife and that is all I need. And now I take the really sweet ferro rod that some guy gave me ;).
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

I don’t, probably don’t go as deep in the woods as most.

Some days I just like to cook a little something, make some coffee, and pretend I am waaaaay out in the boonies. and enjoy the surroundings. My take on hunting is just to get out and have fun. A kill is icing on the cake.

Yep, I feel that a flint and steel with char cloth is more reliable than matches.
Carried one for many years.

Well, I carry a lighter 😁. Also have a little magnesium starter. But would like to learn about other stuff. Tell me about them please.

Striker is high carbon steel, flint is a rock, char cloth is fabric that is brought to the point of NEAR combustion, tender is anything that will catch on fire easily. The fat wood is from the root of a pine tree, full of pine tar and very flammable. Ferro rod is like a big lighter flint, and produces a lot of sparks when scratched with a knife. Google has a lot of information all. It also tells you how to make char cloth. You can also purchase a flint and steel on Amazon for about $12.00. Hope this helps!

I just use a cig lighter, I rarely start a fire on a day hunt, but works good for swapping out or straightening glued on point and also works well for cutting fishing line.
