2019 season prep
What have you done so far?
I have 3 stands relocated. with 2 more to move. 1 needs lowered because its just too damn high at 20'. I welded up a short 10' stand I need to place plywood on the seat and foot rest still.
I got most of the limbs I need trimmed. Had poison ivy get me in the process.
made more arrows than I will ever shoot. Some 1816 autumn orange, a couple dozen birch woodies and started on some 500 carbons.
Made ground on a cut wheat stubble field for dove season. Hopefully its not grown up come next month. Debating on making some flu flu and trying at them with the bow this year.

Re: 2019 season prep
Well I guess the only good thing about being in a climber is that prep is simply moving it to my truck, which I did three weeks ago. Going to break down the climber and inspect it throughly here shortly. After an inspection I am going to do a test climb with bow gear. After that I will start shooting my practice sessions at the wma from the climber taking turns with my hunting partner fetching arrows. I have 2 possibilities of private land hunts this year, which puts my chances of getting to even shoot at a deer much higher.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.
Re: 2019 season prep
you guys need to look into the Kansas maps etc I sent you one year. Lots of opportunity here.
Re: 2019 season prep
Yes indeed. I have looked over them briefly. Just had my fourth kid a week ago and will probably not travel out of state this year.

Three stands and a ground blind up on the private property we have permission on they are pretty much where they were last season.
Hope to get up in the hills soon and look for Elk sign.

Re: 2019 season prep
Im fortunate to have a farm i invested in several years ago.with that said i have stands up but will be trying to go over (about an hour drive) and have a couple work days next week of moving stands and checking them for safety etc.. But i havent really done anything except shoot some in preperation. I do keep all my hunting equipment in order and still have a supply of arrows ready to go.But it is time!!!

Prep?
Let's see, I could at a moment's notice, be seated in a good hinting spot with everything I need in around 15 minutes.
PS: My dad accused me of marrying my wife because she had lots if huntable property.
I assured her that wasn't true, but I do want to hunt.

Re: 2019 season prep
Got out once this year, hoping to again this week. Checked on some stands, took a few down for checkups and/or repairs, and put up a new one my buddy bought in a yard sale.

Lost my lease Thursday. Will be hunting Texas Public land this year, Old Sabine Bottom Wildlife Management Area.
