First deer with trad tonight

#1 Post by tmattson »

First ever deer tonight using trad (longbow), shot it hanging from my new Mantis tree saddle.
Not huge (5 pointer), but a trophy to me!

All right!!! That's always a great feeling - and from a tree saddle no less. I was never brave enough to try one of those things.
Jesus replaces the old covenant and speaks to the believer the moral code of God by His Spirit directly to the heart. He is the eternal, everlasting revelation of God to mankind. In Him is both the knowledge of righteousness and the power to live right.

Here are picks. Think was my fourth or fifth sit in the Saddle, only second time from this spot on back side of property, wind was perfect.
Shot deer at about maybe 7-8 yards from base of tree, sharp downward shot. Had to swing out away from tree a good ways to get the shot off.
First shot dropped him, thought I spine shot it, so followed up with a second shot quickly, that is the arrow you see in the pic sticking out, arrow went all the way through and stuck in the ground. first shot entered high (part of spine maybe), through heart, never exited.
