This past week I wore myself out scouting for buck sign on public land. Maybe it’s a bit early, or there are too many leaves falling, but I’m not having much luck finding scrapes so far. I got this coming week to get out there all I’m an before rifle season comes in Saturday. Have spent some time perched in a tree. Did so Saturday morning. Only action was a few Squirrels and a Katydid eating on my cat whiskers. But he has digestive issues!

Monday evening Nov 7th
Good set except Squirrel hunters got too close when their dogs treed near my stand. Wasn’t bad until they began shooting a 22 rifle in an uncomfortable direction. Had to speak up and announce my presence. They apologized and moved on.
Doe came sneaking by couple hours later. Then two Coyotes before I came down.

Unfortunately due to rifle season beginning here I have put hunting on hold. And it just turned cold and the rut turned on! Many of my friends are now seeing lots of chasing and activity. One buddy took a trip to the Western part of our state this weekend to hunt a WMA that doesn’t allow gun hunting and took a nice buck yesterday! I was not able to go due to Church obligations. Hopefully I can get back out soon. Here is what he sent me yesterday...
