Early season pattern
The early season hunting in our area is mostly centered around the field crops. The acorns have not began to fall and most of the deer appear to be hitting the soy beans, corn, grass, and other crops. I am usually trying to figure out where they will come out into them at during the first part of season in late evening. In mornings a trail leading back to a bedding area. How do you guys try to pattern in the early season?

Tony, I generally look for converging trails to and from feeding spots (usually cornfields, if available) and set up several spots there.
Aim small, miss small!

Re: Early season pattern
I really try to avoid early season hunting. For me, about as early as I get is the 2-3 week of October, depending on temps, wind, and how far seasonal changes are taking place.
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

My first time to get drawn after putting in for it since it began about fourteen years ago. Drew a Cow archery tag.
