Early prep

#1 Post by Carpdaddy »

Bad early but my buddy made a ladder for an old climbing stand and wanted to put it up. We probably have ten or so out in different locations. We got out early this morning while still cool enough to breath!

I thought that I was the only one to do that. I just happened to use old aluminum ladders with lock on stands. I no longer can hand onto trees or climb a single pole ladder. so, why not make them into a ladder stand. I have two of them out in the woods right now waiting for me to get them up. I picked up a two man buddy ladder stand on clearance and put it up a moonth ago. I try to set mine up with limbs and branches to help conceal me. mine are only about 10-12 feet tall because that is what they were. I have taken a lot of deer from 8' high ladder stands. but I do prefer to put mine up several months early so that they get to be part of the terrain scent wise. smart setup my friend

Most of our stands are ladder stands now, and most bought after season when on clearance, we chain them to the tree to slow thieves down. Most of the time we don’t have any trouble but did have a bottom section disappear about three years ago. One year while on clearance I met the manager and made an offer on the remaining stands they had, got them at about 60% off! Unfortunately they only had three left. This was a yard sale climbing stand my buddy bought for nearly nothing. He just made a ladder for it.

Hate the thieves, I got very good at hiding my hang on stands and single pole ladders so that no one could easily see them. About 8 years ago, we had a jerk take a dump at the bottom of her ladder and then smear it all over the place. we have lost several things to thieves as well. also had people hunting out of my stands and trashing the place so sad. yeah, Clarence I mean clearance is my best friend as well. We are ladder stands and now some blinds.

But just one of the reasons I switched to ground blinds...

I used ladders also. They were much safer for my. My monkey abilities are limited. Every time I could find one, I'd also buy hang on seats for the ladder stands that only had a platform to stand on. Then I's strap myself in, enjoy the view, watch for deer and then take a lovely nap.
Jesus replaces the old covenant and speaks to the believer the moral code of God by His Spirit directly to the heart. He is the eternal, everlasting revelation of God to mankind. In Him is both the knowledge of righteousness and the power to live right.
