Stay Sharp broadhead sharpener

#1 Post by Captainkirk »

This little gizmo is made and marketed by our own Stay Sharp (Ron). It's inexpensive, simple to use, and just plain WORKS. It can be used with sharpening stones or simple sandpaper on a flat surface and is more or less idiot proof. If sharpening those dull-from-the-factory Zwickeys or similar broadheads just ain't your thing, give this a try. You just might be surprised.

I make two versions. One for replaceable blade broadheads and a version for fixed blade heads. Here is a video of how to use the guide.

This enterprise really took off and is selling far better than I expected and its keeping me quite busy.

Going to town today to get my money order. If it wasn't for gun season I'd have to wait till Feb. I think. :)

Will these do the 25° bevel of single bevel broadheads?

Our guide sharpens heads at 22 degrees. Its ok to have a different bevel angle than factory. All that matters is that you raise a burr and they are sharp.

The edge of an original Bear broadhead is not straight. it has a little bit of a curve to it. This sharpener won't work on them, will it?

Sure it will. I have sharpened many Bear heads with our sharpener. It takes a little technique. You rock the edge and you roll forward. Our guide holds the angle but you apply a little pressure on the bevel at the heels while rolling forwards and rocking towards the tip.
