Elkseeker. A review of sorts.
I’ll start by saying I’m not sure why this bow came my way because the Trad world I am a baby. Sure, I have shot more bows than I can remember and in my short tenure I have accumulated some amazing bows. With that said I still feel as though my opinion is not worth but a cent, especially when compared to some of the experience found on this very site. Normally, I am the one asking questions, usually I am the one pining for opinions, and I am the one seeking the wisdom of others.
However, they do say a picture is worth a thousand words and so I will attempt to upload a myriad to compensate (I am doing this all on a phone, so I apologize in advance for the grammatical errors). This review will be several days in the making as I am determined to give this bow that arrived today a fair shake.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Preparation for this review actually started weeks ago, so let me catch you all up.
A good review starts with good arrows..... fresh spruce shafting, ebony stain, and tung oil is my recipe and so far it yields an arrow that can hit a beer can at 30 yards. (Did it several times the other day).

Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.
Re: Elkseeker. A review of sorts.
Arrows will actually be tuned to the 45lbs slick stick, as I must return this bow at the end. A fact, I’m already dreading. Step one back taper then a coat of ebony stain (one coat is enouch for me because it allows you to still see it the grain). And yes to your question, I did and am actually making a dozen fresh arrows just for this review.

A box arrived! Actually I picked it up and if my elementary wood senses are correct it looks as though the top and bottom are oak and the rest appears to be pine. What a nice touch!

Arrows received their nocks and first coat of tung oil (three coats is the recipe). Opening the box I can’t resist.

Bow sock and handle shots. Speachless.... this bow was my favorite that Tom initially posted. To hold it in person is......

Re: Elkseeker. A review of sorts.
Comparison with my slick stick to show you how wide the limbs are!! They are so thin, yet strong. The handle fits like a glove, as good as any I have held. However the string is a sham and will have to be remade (it’s cool, I know the guy that did it). I’ll add that to the list of things to do for this review. The finish is perfect and the profile is sleek/sexy, ahmmm I mean attractive. Arrows should be finished by Wednesday and I have to get the stringy making stuff out for Dan anyway. So far count me impressed. The toelke might just have to wait another year.....
More to come, so much to do.

I didn't want to pass it along. That bow shoots great.
I'm waiting to see how you like it.
