Back up bow.

#1 Post by stumper »

Went to archery shop today and walked out with a back up left hander. Strung it up and shot it for over an hour and was very impressed. Went back two hours later and bought it. Falco Spirit 50lbs 64 inches maple riser and limb cores under black glass. Nothing special to look at but it shoots very well. Got it for a song. This is my first D profile Longbow (though it does have very slight reflex unstrung) and I must say I very much enjoy it. I will probably build a string for it tomorrow however there is no rush because the string it came with is actually very well built.

While it's not the most striking wood I've ever seen but the bow definitely has its place in my arsenal and will be a good backup to the cardiac arrest. In addition to being my cardiac arrest back up though it will likely be my foul-weather left-handed bow.

Perhaps due to the D profile and the not cut to center shelf, it actually is shooting the cardiac arrest arrow very well despite the cardiac arrest only being 43 lb. The cardiac arrest though does have an incredible amount of reflex and deflex and is cut past center.

Nice, some of the plain looking bows shoot the best. ;)

What truly impressed me about it was that it was shooting good at the wrong brace height with the wrong arrows and it was fairly quiet despite not having any silencers just was kind of remarkable how well it was shooting for not being set up well

Looks and sounds like you did good. I’m guessing that with silencers and set up it will be dead quiet.

Oh it is. Put some silencers on it tonight and it's a deadly combo.
