Let's see those DIY game carts
Let's see your DIY game cart. Here's mine.
Components:
Two 20" bike wheels I snatched from the dumpster at the local landfill site several years ago.
Two sections of an aluminum extending ladder that I scrapped when it showed signs of fatigue on one of the hangers.
A scrapped pool skimmer handle, cut into two pieces.
A scrapped plastic-clad heavy-duty curtain rod, cut to length.
A scrapped lawnmower handle.
A piece of round steel bar, cut to length, inserted through a scrapped piece of aluminum tube and then the curtain rod. The bar is attached to the bike wheel axles with J-B Weld packed into the tube and around the bar (no, I'm not kidding!), with the curtain rod shimmed in the ladder section with some masonry nails.
Some paint that I actually had to pay for.
Duct tape wrapped around the handle joints to reduce creaking noise.
Total cost of materials: Under $20.
Total weight ... wait for it ... 24 lbs.
Because the weight of a properly balanced load is over the axle, there is MINIMAL force required to lift the handle and move the cart. The load in this case was a ladder stand - I lifted the handle with a single finger.

Too cool! It even appears that you can put the park break on, stand it up, and hunt from it! Joking about that; but you did good and that's no joke.

Thanks. I've got one of these as well: http://www.eberlestock.com/store/x2-pack I wouldn't want to haul the constituent parts of an elk out with it, but deer quarters or boned-out meat are feasible.Shadowhntr wrote:Very nice build!! Either you pay him well, or you've got some real dirt on him!
Aim small, miss small!
