No, I have not tried catching any swarms.

Re: Bee keepers
Got one more swarm trap up. Lots of field bees nearby using one of my food plots. The turnips have really bloomed out. Also got some more frames wired up and foundation put in them.
Got another trap to put out tomorrow and one to go check.

Looking forward to you getting your hives going.

My grandfather, in his younger years, used to handle bees. Long after he gave it up and moved on, a swarm moved into a void that was in between his house and back porch. He let them stay for awhile till he had someone come and take away the swarm. I always thought it was so cool how he could be near the hive and see a drone and grab it out of the air and never grab the wrong one.

Re: Bee keepers
I bet he had was a very knowledgeable bee keeper. I’m going to learn with trail and error. Thought I might have a swarm today. Went to a lady house today. Said she had some bees. Get there she tells me they chased her. There was a huge tree in her yard that had vines growing up it. She said last year her friend was trying to cut them down and got stung and ran off. So I’m thinking ok maybe there is a colony living inside the tree. Go around it nothing. Get my ladder out and make sure no knot holes higher up but nothing. So we are talking I’m telling her that more than likely there was a wasp nest or yellow jackets in it last year. Bought that time a couple wood bees come bye. She starts heading the other way saying there they are haha. So I explained the difference. Told her what she could do with the wood bees. So bummed I didn’t get any bees but glad maybe I helped her out a little. Also checked a swarm trap on way home. Darn cows had found it and knocked it down. So I hung it higher this time.Elkman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:03 pm My grandfather, in his younger years, used to handle bees. Wood bees, carpenter bees, just don't seem to be around the mid-west. Actually I never heard of them. I probably grew up with them in NY and NJ, but that was long ago, so I had to look them up.

Jesus replaces the old covenant and speaks to the believer the moral code of God by His Spirit directly to the heart. He is the eternal, everlasting revelation of God to mankind. In Him is both the knowledge of righteousness and the power to live right.
