Little video from today. The workers were killing drones. They normally do this in the fall. Not sure why this early. Also you will see them drag a bumblebee out as well. Could be a sign of dearth coming.

Do you have African Small Hive Beetles in your area? My hives would kill drones early when the beetles began to show up.

That's good. Those things are awful. The literally put me out of business. They are so bad around here that it is impossible to keep many hives without resorting to some pretty nasty chemicals and I just don't like doing that. I'm working with a friend of mine to come up with some more wholesome methods. If we get it right it would be amazing.

Pulled some honey over weekend. 25 pounds worth. Man it’s good.
