Bought the Bitz!

#1 Post by Captainkirk »

I believe in buying quality equipment over junk. We are always tempted to go for the lower price, and many times you can get away with it fine. But when it comes to things like reloading equipment, I learned to go with high quality over price. And I intend to let this trait carry over to arrow "reloading" as well.
I was tempted by the pricing on some of the lower priced plastic jigs, but go on any website (e.g. Cabela's) and read the reviews, and the spiders crawl out of the closet. The Bitz was overwhelmingly the best product out there, and since the local Bass Pro had several in stock in R/H and straight (no lefties) for less than what the big on-line archery chains were selling them for, I dug deep and sprang for a Bitz in rightie.
I can't tell you how well it works yet. But is sure is one impressive piece of equipment!

Also picked up an arrow straightness roller, also cheaper than the online souces. It pays to shop around.

$84.00 at Bass Pro...in stock, no shipping. The plastic ones were almost $60.00. A no-brainer.

So, in addition to the Bitz and arrow roller, today I ordered up (from 3Rivers):
Arrow roller
Arrow scale with zeroing weight and arrow rest
Arrow tapering tool
and a little reading material...... "Shooting the Stickbow"

Next up; arrow building supplies!

I've been using my Bitz since 1990 and never an issue. One thing did help was a little gun oil on the inner workings.
